he does, he was the one who originally suggested they cover it because he wanted another Sloop style song (based al tbh). Brian produced this version and it... wasn't good so Al completely remade it for the single version while they were recording Sunflower. it's the first song he's fully credited for singing and arranging unless I'm forgetting something
