I read that review of your EP, Black Malachite, and I must be missing something, but that was terrible. It made no sense. I don't why it pos'd so highly. A joke? The only coherent criticism I got out of it is that your riffing relied too much on chugging.
Yeah, I'm not a masochist, and I'm not nearly on here enough to know who Snide is. So, looks like I'm screwed in that regard.

snide is blackmalachite
"and I'm not nearly on here enough to know who Snide is"
which says a lot about how much you frequent the site but that didn't stop you from generalizing the entire userbase earlier
good work

Well, JeetJeet, agree to disagree. To me, reading Hegelian or Kantian philosophy is a chore. 1000 words, two paragraphs (~300 words, I believe) of which to explain the metaphor in the beginning, and using a it as a motif throughout isn't asking too much.
But I could have misunderstood what you meant by "chore."

betray,
I've been on here for years, observing before I started writing reviews sporadically over the last two years.
I don't know why you feel obligated to defend the honor of the user base, especially since I have not once attacked you personally for your remarks toward me on this thread whatsoever. I have been gracious toward you throughout despite your increasing hostility toward me.

There's a lot of natural ambiguity and vagueness in language and communication So sue me.

Looking at my stats on Bandcamp, my Rage EP is actually my most popular despite being the worst received critically.
Distortion World's still sold the most though.

Idk if you can handle borderline 2 hours of Radiohead remixes tho. My first one had some attention but no one's heard this one despite my list being featured lol

Honestly, looking back at this argument on the thread, my initial response to Jeet Jeet was no more flippant than his original comment. betray, for whatever reason -- I still don't understand why -- seemed to imply that I was out of line for repeatedly defending my review to a particularly repeated criticism, that it relied on the Transformers metaphor too much. My response to those criticisms was not angry or aggressive. I started to get more defensive when betray seemingly acted like my act of replying to this criticism, specifically my reply to Jeet Jeet, which was no more flippant than his to me, was somehow beyond the pale. My comments to betray from that point on were no more rude or antagonistic in tone to anyone in particular than what it was to Jeet Jeet.
Looking back, I don't think I was the one who can't take criticism. I think I was more reacting to what I perceived as unjust treatment for having the gall to say, "I see your criticism, but I think it misunderstands or it's misguided, and here's why...". And it's this perceived double standard I notice on Sputnik that cooked by bird.
I most likely misunderstood Jeet Jeet's meaning of "chore," but I won't walk back my civil disagreement with certain criticisms that I feel are incorrect and then rationally attempting to explain why.

I didn't know it was over, VaxXi. But I guess when VaxXi or betray decide something is over than it is -- even though you decided to respond and thereby continue it -- I'm must be one who is out of line for bothering to defend myself. It's this double standard that I can't stand.

And you know what, earlier I said "this spat is dragging on too long" and tried to end it. But betray kept throwing a couple more jabs afterward up until 12 comments ago. But I'm at fault for pointing it out. I've actually gone out of my way to admit that I misunderstood Jeet Jeet. You guys haven't bothered to try to not being open to criticism that you guys are not at all trying to be reconciliatory.
And with that said, I'm no longer going to dwell on this fight on this thread. I won't be responding to either you or betray on it any longer.
