I dunno, I kinda dig this album. It's not nearly as good as The Terror, but I like some of the Yoshimi-esque aspects of it. "Do Glowy" is easily the worst song they've ever recorded though. I could've written better lyrics than those in my sleep.

they really could've cut everything after Hunting for Faeries (w/ the exception of Blisko Domu) and this would've been a whole lot better. Those last four, five songs are just a total snoozefest.

Yeah. May have to drop my rating. I've enjoyed it less with each listen.

Starts out pretty solid, goes off the rails after Hunting for Faeries. The songs after that are either random, boring, badly mashed together or sometimes all three combined.

Weakest Lips since Telepathic Surgery (2).

For being just a notch above average this is oddly addicting.

Is it though? I listened to it a handful of times and then promptly forgot about it.

When I was 18 I was obsessed with The Flaming Lips, but I now realise I was just in love with what I thought The Flaming Lips were, not what they actually were.

Still enjoy 'Clouds Taste Metallic' through 'Yoshimi', but man never have I had such a harsh wakeup call with a band and gone completely off them before.

Actually that's not true. I went off The Rapture harder than anything when that final album came out.

Yeah I just couldn't get into the more psych elements, which is a shame. Guess I just liked the poppier stuff, like every early 2000s college kid who thought they were cool

Double shame because Fridmann is one of my favourite producers.

Fair criticism but the "idea" of the band is a huge pro for me. Like it makes sense to call it a gimmick but if you buy into it, it's a novelty
