Oh I played it on PS1, so not when it was originally released. Quake 2 was another staple of my PS1 days. I was a bit (okay, very) young to be playing such things when it initially dropped.

Doom Eternal was fantastic. It still had all the stuff that made the 2016 game great while adding more depth to the story and platforming elements. That, and it’s hard as shit on Nightmare difficulty (and sadly you don’t get a trophy/achievement for it, as I only found out after I beat it 😕)



Though I will say, hearing Doomguy speak for the first time was jarring as hell

I guess you will always have the satisfaction that you did it (that does seem pretty silly though, did they think it'd be too hard for most people... or something?)

To pour salt on the wound, that PS4’s data became corrupted after a game update (for the Modern Warfare reboot) fucked up my console. And keep in mind, I beat BOTH of the Doom reboot games on Nightmare. Needless to say, I was pretty pissed I didn’t have my save files as proof anymore

It’s pretty fucking hard. I don’t even want to know how many times I died.

The ashtray maze from the first game was so damn good. So glad it's getting a sequel

For sure one of the most unique sequences in a game in a while, and I always assumed they were gonna make a sequel, but that is NOT the direction I expected it to go in.

I’m so down for a melee focused take on that, they’ve said that the game will have expanded skill trees and deeper combat
