Can't help but feel like some of the positive reception to this album is due to this band lowering expectations so much over the past decade. Listened to a couple tunes off of this again, and enjoyed the renewed focus on instrumentation. Afterwards though, I threw on a couple of my old favorites like The Wicked End and Eternal Rest and man, the stuff on here just doesn't hold up.

its about 50% as good as Waking the Fallen though
vocals and production are both a problem
even though I don't like it much its still the best since CoE and seems more like a natural followup
