I love this review so much - it's a grower like this masterpiece of an album

Haha no problem, dude - I was literally having my real deal click moment (i.e. a 4 to a 4.5-5 range) while reading through this and everything you so spastically state put everything into words for me

eh. Mild disappointment. Has some cool bits, but imo he's amping up the wonky electronic stuff to cover up for the fact that he has very few good songwriting ideas on this.

I keep spinning this in the hope that something will finally click, but it hasn't

My soundoff should be taken so incredibly serious.

I mean I get that but it's still wrong. The fact that vocoder is present doesn't make literally anything here close to Woods

'Woods' was his previously most experimental song and this album heads in that direction

simplifying the shit out of it, Woods was an acapella song built on a circular lyric motif, there's nothing on here like that, just because this is also experimental doesn't make it the same kind of experiments

"simplifying the shit out of it"

That's why I didn't write a review, but a (joking) soundoff. And the defining characteristic of "Woods" are the distorted vocals, which are very present on this album.
