Looking back on this record...it's actually pretty damn good and arguably their best work.

Agreed. the 2nd half of the album is pretty good. "Wishbone" especially is so damn catchy and reminiscent of their earlier records. Agreed that the production is absolute trash, and most of the poppy singles too.
