This album's version of "The Graveyard By Moonlight" sounds like it could be an Agalloch instrumental from their Of Stone, Wind, and Pillor/Pale Folklore era.

Digging: Selbst - Despondency Chord Progressions

Tried changing this from LP to Compilation since that's what it is, appears to have been changed back though.

I would've said that if it didn't have the demo tracks at the end of the album

i mean, some regular albums have demo tracks tacked on to them though? either way, guess it doesn't really matter too much, not sure why i'm being so argumentative all a that needs to be said is GREAT PHUCKIN ALBUM

Yeah, this definitely should be in Compilations.

The only gripe I have with this version is the part in the title track when they reintroduce the melody about 3/4 of the way through. The vocals aren't as power as the MFN version imo. Otherwise, this is just as good and in some cases better.

The chorus at 1:18-1:44 drives me crazy. I hate the keys on that part, and think the final version is 100x better. There are little nuances here and there that catch me every time. When Sarah Jezebel Deva sings "With Asphodel eyes" instead of "With eyes like Asphodel" it always catches my ear.. things like that throughout.

I love the rawness of this record though, and Dani's vocals sound killer. If someone hated the high shrieks he's more known for, they actually might get more enjoyment out of the vocals on this recording. I like them both, don't really know which ones I prefer.

After a lot of time with this, I think this will be my go-to version of Dusk. The only song that I like more on the MFN version is Funeral in Carpathia.
