I seem to be the only person who prefers the album version of Wolves. Vic's part does nothing for me, Kanye's lines about covering Saint in lamb's wool, and Frank at the end is much more powerful to me imo.
Wish he'd kept Sia for the album cut then it'd have been a 5/5 song for me.

I like the lines about lamb's wool but that is all I prefer from the album version, I don't like Kanye's verse at all

I checked his website and it only played the 30-second samples.

@wtf
yeah, just noticed that.

Well... this grew a TON on me. There you go. TLOP's a grower.
|

@wtf if you have a tidal subscription it plays the whole thing. i made one and then cancelled my card immediately so it worked for me
and nah I like the album version of wolves a lot more - I don't think Sia or Mensa fit super well but hnnnnggg that Frank Ocean outro
|
| |
I am kinda ambivalent on Sia's part but I absolutely love Mensa's part

Might as well just pirate it tbh. Tidal is fucking stupid and all the music leak websites have it up

That last third of the album tho. 30 hours and no more parties in LA are incredible

Apparently 30 Hours was partially written by Drake

this is actually a really good review. im floating in between a 3.5 and a 4.0 rn. prob gonna be a 3.5 tho
|

"Nuh uh, drake can write music?"
He writes almost all of his music dude lol
It's his bars the ones that are suspected to be ghostwritten
|

Father pt.1 has become one of my absolute favorite tracks, the way all the disparate elements come together behind that amazing Cudi chorus, so great
|
| |
The pillar of salt line from Chance on Ulb is so fucking funny oh my god

May not fully agree with this review, but I liked it nonetheless.
Though I must be honest when I say that, as Will, the reviewer mentions that TLOP is a "tremendous mess", suggesting that the album is made up of a bunch of songs that don't seem destined for each other on the same LP, yet work in beautiful disharmony together.
What I fail to understand is what is it about the blatantly incoherent songs that makes them work so well together, especially considering that is a general rule of thumb that coherence within an album's tracklist is an excellent tool to making the album work and work well...

Oh hey the rape defender has a new album? This is the first and last time I'll think about it.
