It's crazy how low this album is rated considering how glowing most of the comments here are.

Can't get enough of the midpoint in Washerwoman when it all kicks in to high gear

Still haven't gotten around to Further Still, but if yr right, there's gotta be a theory that the quality of their cover arts and the quality of the tunes are inversely proportional

Love how the Slint influences go shameless during Washerwoman. May up this to a 4,5 soon. Awesome album.

yeah nobody in blackgaze rips off Slint-y stuff like these guys do and that's a bummer, it's such a more interesting style of post-rock than mogwai/EITS-worship like typical post-black.

nothing here feels gimmicky or filler either. the slint-style doesn't overstay its welcome, the tremz are still fucking icy, the bass is THICK, the drums are honestly bar-none. the experimental bits? :chefskiss

there's also something about his screams too..... like a step down from the banshee BDSM wail, but still just as piercing

they used to be more typical growly wails on the s/t, but since then they've got a whine to them, like they come more from a more emo direction going black metal or something?
