Some possible potential held back by repetition...but definitely not enough "oh woah hey" sections on the record.

No seriously, you can't excuse such lazy songwriting. Not every new unknown indie underground unsigned free rebellious artist you find on the web has to be good. I like Jasper Wildlife Association and especially Sasquatch .22 though. They should build upon the style of this track instead of assembling the same chords with differently vocalised "woahs".

I believe we used so many ' wooooooaaaasah o o is' in order to make our live set more catchy and engage people who don't know us. As far as the repetition goes in the instrumentation that was a very conscious decision in order to try and keep the 8 tracks cohesive ( and we may have gone too far in that direction but I'm not even too sure of that). Thank you everyone for your opinions, it means the world to us to see people debating our work so extensively.

Yeah that's probably the band. They posted their stuff on reddit when they released their album. Good job @rufinthefury on guessing why they repeated a lot of the riffs/instrumentation, you hit it right on the head. @sneerglaw great album guys you should be proud

If this is really the band: Don't get me wrong guys, I really like your approach. Sasquatch in particular is a very nice song imo. I'm sure you will improve on your next work so definitely don't stop!

@sneerglaw Thanks for commenting, really cool to see a band actually look through reviews for some constructive criticism (although sputnik isnt always the most constructive). I really enjoyed the album, great stuff and cool atmosphere. Could use some other techniques to create catchiness other than woah ohs and maybe a little more variation in instrumentation, but I understand that this is what made the tracks so cohesive.

I listened to this album on spotify free on my phone and the shuffle played Hozier, Sam Smith, Nicki Minaj, and Maroon 5. Wtf.

Good album though, some nice riffs & leads thrown in and the vocalist is pretty damn good. A lot of minor/major 7th chords i'm assuming? Sexy.

Beach rock emo is a great way to describe this, seriously.

Funny you mention Maroon 5, listening to Beach Book, it sounds like it could be straight off of Songs About Jane.
