Finally listened to this again. It is clearly more well-rounded and more diversified than Iconoclast, an improvement on so many levels, but then again that doesn't keep it from just being a bunch of things we heard from them a hundred times before. Too much auto pilot, they're always working with things from previous albums and just re-arranging them. It's such a shame, really. I mean, they used to have so many moments that just took you off-guard in their musical venturesomeness (e.g. that crazy polyrhythm part in Accolade). Most of that has been replaced by yet another super fast solo that has no effect whatsoever because it's the fifth one in a row already. I really hope they rediscover their will to think outside the box.
