I don't have any other rhcp albums, but I decided to pick this up since it's something new and I'm pretty impressed. I'm listening to Hey right now and really diggin it. They probably could've culled the best from both discs and released one CD, but I got it for twelve bucks so I'm not complaining.

well, i dont wanna get dissed by you guys.. but my comment isnt gonna be stupid like Douchemaster's comment... you can juz suck ur own **** Douchemaster...well RHCP is definetly one of my all time fav band.. I've got all their albums, seen them live, have the logo tattooed on my back, and got Stadium Arcadium instantly once it reached the shelf... i forced myself not to download any song, eventough i was gonna buy the album, because i wanted to haf the feeling of enjoying the album in my room... but unfortunately i didnt... i respect u guys, and everyone likes their own music... but there are some awesome songs on this album, like snow, charlie, readymade, storm in a teacup, hump de bump... its abit of taste of the old times, but john's clean tone in my opinion is really awful in this album, very soft and cheesy, very little energy in the playing.. flea was trying to hard to be simple... john and flea are really talented musicians and they are still my idols.. in bass and guitar... the songs stretch too long and they feel repeatative.. if they cut this down to 1 album, it would haf been awesome... but 28 songs, i probably expected abit more... but, im still listening to it... hoping to apprectiate it soon... rhcp still rules and rocks

This is an epic! It combines the best of Blood sugar, Californication and By the Way.
The slower songs can drag out a bit but the good ones are rockin'
By this album now, you wont regret it!
Great review, the best iv ever read!

Good review. After listening to each discs a few times, the songs I thought were weaker grew on me. I like them both quite a bit. It's a step up from By The Way in my eyes.

I love the long track lengths, adds so much more value to the two discs. It funky than By the way but it still rocks well in places. Superb album, a triumph.
can anyone tell me if Hump de Bump is serious or what? I like it but listening to it makes me feel silly...
I don't know, but I get the same feelings as you when I listen to that song. I also find "Storm in a Teacup" a silly track as well because of the crazy chant that constantly gets said in the verses. I think the chant goes "hoo tang, hoo tang, yeah you got poo-tang". That part totally cracks me up.This Message Edited On 05.10.06

CD1 i would rate about 4/5, CD2 i would rate 5/5...

BUT since we are rating this as a whole album, i can't just take the mean of these two scores. It deserves a 5/5 for sheer volume, even if a few songs arent up to scratch..

Also..to joh soxe..you like Californication, but you don't like this album??? Many songs in this album sound quite similar to those in Californication, so i have fuck all idea wat ur talking about!! and it IS artistic!!This Message Edited On 05.14.06
