because both of 'em had guest producers who weren't really known for hip hop at all, exclusive to those songs on their respective albums + were mostly singing
Yeah, I see your point. Although I see both songs at the opposite end of the spectrum. Hold On We're Going Home had chart hit all over it. Karaoke was that introspective track that manages to worm it's way into your heart and end up being his best track on the album. Plus it's so lo-fi.

well i wasn't trying to call them perfect relatives or anything, Hold On is still pretty somber though, i'd say something HYFR would be more of an opposite end of the spectrum thing to a song like Karaoke
