the old guy doesnt fit as well on their old material, like they dont match the hardcore converge styled music with him in the old days. its more or less his jacob bannon impression with normal melodic metalcore, so it doesnt work as well

I don't get the whole Jacob Bannon impersonation comments, if anything his vocals and style were heavily influenced from Zao who they directly cite as an influence for the band.

Of course, but you're insinuating the band was listening to Converge one day and all communally thought "let's sound like that?!" Sure they sound similar but there's hardly any evidence that Converge was a direct influence on their style where as they have cited Zao numerous times as a a direct influence of the band, dating all the way back to the 90's and Jimmy Ryan's vocals are much more in the vain of Zao than Converge. In essence, Zao is the band that influenced Haste The Day, if you want to make the Zao was influenced by Converge go for it, but both bands began around the same time. I just think people pointlessly insert converge into the conversation because it's an easy talking point when in reality Converge probably had very little to do with the sound and music of Haste the Day who had their own influences within the Christian Metalcore scene to emulate.

not sure that was all that necessary man. the dude sounds like jacob bannon and that's the extent of the comparison. I definitely see more jacob bannon than zao. no one is insinuating that they sat down one day to ape converge on their album
