Much to my own confusion, I think this might be their pinnacle. It’s like I’ve entered an alternate dimension or something. Weird.

yeah, i consider this to be where they peaked. the songwriting isnt as immediate as on, say, de loused, but the vibes are amazing. i bought the bootleg vinyl for this just for the artwork lol

Deloused has fallen away the hardest, that was my favourite for many years. The fairly diverse set of influences on this are surprisingly well integrated. I dig the added jazz fusion and Latin vibes.

I just checked to see if this is still the best TMV and I’m gonna say yeah (not that I actually spun their other albums this time around).

viscera eyes needs more love. the jam at the end is sick then it goes into the "she's crawling..shes still crawling on your burial ground" sick.

I love how Tetragrammaton is just nailed together, so many times inna song you hear the breaks slam and a tape splice and it's a really cute way to assemble a bit of prog rock, plus the intro/outro progression is brilliant

only problem with that tune is that I can never remember anything else on here except that it started to get a bit fusion-y. generally I prefer Frances's excess of ambience to this album's excess of fusion lol

Day of the Baphomets and Viscera Eyes I’ve always held in very high regard but it wasn’t until recently that I started wholly enjoying the rest of the album. There are some songwriting and production issues that I have (mostly in Tetra and Meccamputechture) but there’s just so much unique and gripping material here that all it really does is hold this back from being a 5/5 for me.

What a special band TMV were.

The opener reminds me of something Rishloo would do. You can hear the influence in Rishloos music now

I kinda wanna see them live now that they are back but, given that they are TMV, I'm afraid they will only play 3 forty-minute renditions of their songs.
