honestly i find the drones on here really uninteresting, they perfectly drove a narrative in the albums before they broke up but they're too reliant on them now
other than that i really miss godspeed's ability to raise tension, i found this album really, really boring as a consequence. not into this one, i hope it grows on me.

Agreed hard man. The overwhelming use of drones here made them lose their profound vision that the first three had. Need that their album always needs that, but this one really lacked what makes them great aside from Piss Crowns. Just didn't feel anything worthwhile here besides that song. And I love the drones on their other stuff too.

The first movement is by far my favorite. I don't really see how so many people find it boring or average. It doesn't build in the typical manner that GY!BE songs are known for, but I love the change of pace. I also love the key change at 4:06. It sounds so glorious.

@Mongi: How does Skinny Fist have any vision? Just curious, I didn't find it intresting it all. The lack of a common theme and over reliance on tension building killed the album for me. For me this is a fucking dirge, all pretentions of making a half baked atmosphere and build ups for outright heavy drone just building up for an immense climax. Find this far more effective then all their albums past Slow Riot, especally the focus on just being so abrasive compared to their other efforts.
