yep grouse it was at point FMR. on a sidenote Absolutely Free were pretty fun percussion driven
dreampop, packed a nice little punch

also: all music is art, people have just gotta realize that Art CAN be shitty and not necessarily a
constant mindblow

Did you have to leave halfway through the set like at Slowdive? :P

tbh I thought Absolutely Free were wildly inconsistent, they had a general pattern of shit/good/shit/good/shit throughout their set. They'd also had the Canadian airline lose all their equipment in the flight across to Europe, so the bassist had to play a lefty, which was pretty cool

I keep coming back to this.

I was hooked at Pointless Existence and the perpetual weirdness gives me an insatiable desire for more, so I just play the album again and again.

Agreed, March of Progress is where the album goes from pretty good to great. Then it just gets better from there.

Finally listened to Cassette.

It is pretty slick as well, but much more straight-forward than this one and less interesting to me as a result.

It's funny how musical tastes will change or grow. I'm glad I heard this album when I did because I may have written these guys off long ago... looks like it is time for me to check out Women.

Think I'm guilty of overplaying this a little. Will be surprised if it doesn't make top 3 of the year though.
