He hasn't had a good beat since the Bass Brothers left.

^yeah, and this review completely misses the mark as to why this album is bad. Why is there no

mention of the horrendous hooks and beats that are actually the flaw here?

Why is his main problem with this emeinem's raps? they are the only thing that make this album

enjoyable at all. The reviewer completely took the quotes of his lyrics out of context too, and is

pretending they don't make sense, especially the Magic Johnson one.

Because his beats and hooks have always been, at best, afterthoughts. Going into an Eminem album you just assume that his beats and hooks are going to be meh. His rapping is what makes it break everything he does and his rapping is so staggeringly awful on this album it isn't even worth talking about anything else.

the only beat of his that's really memorable was "Old Times Sake" tbh

Aaaaand Dr Dre produced that.

His best moment as a producer is far and away "Renegade".

I really don't think so, he never lost a step in his raps except during his drug addiction/proof's death period. He's a better rapper today than he was on SSLP, MMLP or Eminem Show.

Theres two huge problems though. One is his beats from Dre were insane, and now days they sound like shit. The second problem results from the first one, without beats to carry the album on its first few listens, no one ever gives his album enough listens to enjoy his lyricism that has always gotten better with repeated listens.

It's impossible to compare his raps on this album and MMLP when you know every lyric to MMLP and this one not only has fresh lyrics but also terrible beats that make it impossible to pay attention.

It's obvious he is a better rapper now, there isn't an aspect of his rapping that hasn't improved. Beat it buster.

He may be more technically proficient today, but he can't sell a story anymore.

"'Bitch, shut the fuck up and get in my car/And suck my fucking dick while I take a shit/And I think with my dick so come blow my mind.'"

"...Eminem is worth 110 million dollars, is the best selling rap artist in history..."

Does not compute, beep-boop.
