then why does rym have this under a Single release? a single doesn't necessarily have to mean that it's just a one-song release when taking into account 7" discs that just have a couple or more songs; it could be an actual single of a band with remixes added with it, making a single release.

It didn't seem like you knew that based on this comment.
An EP is an 'extended play' release meaning extended beyond the standard one A-side track / one B-side track single format. So a two track single really doesn't function as an EP unless the songs are of excessive length.

I do agree that singles should be allowed in the database though.
And it certainly doesn't bother me to see it in the database especially as I, perhaps hypocritically, have added the odd lengthier single before for more obscure artists that I thought I might get away with. Was just kinda expecting this one to get removed as it's much more high profile.
