more the weeknd than lorde

if you like trip-hop you'll probably like this too, in terms of the electronically driven tracks at least

It's like Lorde in the sense that's it's pop-driven, female-centric electronic music. Less kitsch and more kinky though

Plus their voices don't really sound too similar. Wouldn't necessarily call it "kinky", certainly "darker" though.

more pop than the weeknd but a similar vibe with a similarly great voice

Before I Ever Met You is a banger by the way. Only just heard it the other day but what a way to announce

yourself to the world

for some reason, i almost like how she left a bit of a meat on the bone (see how many double entendres you can come with here) as a precursor to future material, would appreciate the next record to have more beat-driven tracks, but the piano-driven stuff is clearly a great asset (maybe combining the two would create something fantastic like submotion orchestra did on finest hour)

perhaps since most of the tracks from London are here, she decided not to have as many new electronic-centred tracks, which might change on the next record

"Will Bevan will enjoy the company"

This caught my attention like a dog and a tennis ball. Will check this out.

more hook-based than the weeknd. production isn't as deep either. doesn't have quite the same atmosphere

I get the comparisons but honestly they feel so different
