Popular opinion: Come Clarity is the shit. It has sweet production.

I like take this life quite a bit. cool song. but the chorus has more than slight hints of Anders' vocal gayness

Liked you better dead isn't bad either.
My favorite song off Soundtrack

Crawl Through Knives is probably my favourite off CC.
Looking back, Soundtrack was an interesting move for the band, I never really hated it like a lot of people but I can see why
it's not exactly a celebrated album. It seems like what it was trying to be a lot more contemporary than the ones before it. I
would like to know what some of the band think about the album.

1.5 ey? never been a fanboy or anything, but I've enjoyed some In Flames (and still do). I reckon this really isn't worthwhile then?

I wasn't being completely serious when I asked if In Flames still has fans, I still spin most of their albums. But this? No me gusta. Es un pinche pedazo de caca.

osmark86: Nope, not really. There are some good ideas here and there and a few tracks are actually decent, but none of those are really any better than anything they've done in the past, and the negatives on this album far exceed the positives it could have. This is coming from someone who (more or less) has somewhat enjoyed their last few albums, so in case you didn't then I'm pretty sure this album will be even worse for you.

"a strangely appealing piece of simplistic, melodic metal that may be hard for fans to resist, but if they take the bait and dive in head first, Siren Charms will lead to nothing but savage, bitter disappointment"
I don't get exaxtly what you are saying, but i wished that you could elaborate more on the "strangely appealing piece", because i also feel a strange appeal to it!
other than that i like the album (the first spins) but that's maybe i never liked in flames in the past.
IT seems tho, that they attract negative reviews in nearly all their albums last years...
oh and i completely disaegree in what you saying about "creating a feeling of vocal-driven music in a genre that should not be structured that way." I couldn't care less about how a genre should be structured to sound good

It's just dull. An album without any substance and soul.

Not really sure what you don't get here, it's pretty cut and dry.
I am comparing the album to a siren song which can be defined as "the enticing appeal of something alluring but potentially dangerous". It's appealing in that it's melodic, accessible "radio" metal, but it's dangerous in that the songwriting is awful and leads to the ruin of any appeal it may have initially possessed.

ok, ok thanx a lot, i guess i can't accept songwriting is awful
a question. do you like any melodic, accessible "radio" metal?

idk why i keep coming back to the t/t on this. its like, i kinda want it to be longer and have the ideas more fleshed out, but at the same time i like that its short enough not to get boring

Hard to believe this is the same band that released a masterpiece like "Lunar Strain" 20 years ago. Sad...

Past few Soilwork albums are great, Mercenary rules, Amorphis, Shadows Fall - so yes, I do.

I'mma leave this at a 3. There's stuff I like here and even though it's no improvement over the last few I still don't think it's all that bad either. But now it's time to jam some really good shit. Haven't played The Jester Race in a while /m/

Soilwork is amazing, at least their last album was.

Soilwork had already hit an upward slope by The Panic Broadcast. Way to rebound from the horrible albums that preceded it. I personally greatly disliked FNF, STD and STAGD and thought the albums were crappy, boring efforts at selling out. The fact that Soilwork have picked themselves up afterwards made me rather happy. Too bad In Flames have yet to hit the bottom, but they probably have with this album.

STD was fantastic and you know it.
Though STAGD was a really lackluster album I'll give you that.
