This is only slightly better than the new In Flames

oh come on, this sucks but you cant compare it to Siren Charms, that album is pretty much unlistenable.

They are both unlistenable for different reasons

Xing I really wanna know why you think this record is that bad.

Is it because, they are not playing melo death any more? Or is it the cash grab? Or is it even that you don't like how the vocals are.

The way I see it, this still is the same old Darkest Hour for half the record, but they went for something more palatable on the choruses and other places. I personally loved the way this record turned out, IF was my favorite band, but now DH reigns supreme in my book.

the mediocre and unnecessary singing is a big problem with this album.

and by the starlight is just fucking terrible. its obvious that sumerian has influenced them. theyre trying to be more commercial and it sounds disgusting.

I completely agree with Adolf, but a few of the songs on this rip ass. This is a hit or miss album

By the Starlight is fucking awesome, and in an interview with Mike he had mentioned that that song was almost 10 years old, so this felt like the right album to do it on. Every song has something to like about it IMO.

I thoroughly enjoyed this album. No Deliver Us, but not bad by any means.

What kills me is this is basically Darkest Hour's best and worst work. I can't give 3 amazing songs the due they deserve with cringe-worthy garbage like The Misery We Make and By the Starlight gumming up the album.

I don't think a single song compares to any of their material so I am curious as well

some users were saying "Hypatia Rising" was one of the best DA songs in years and it's on this album but I just listened and it seemed average for a Darkest Hour song.

The lead guitars in that song are unbelievably cheesy

I was expecting faster guitar licks as well not stumped ones. If you know what I mean.

i thought this was aight, fun but not much replay value

most songs seem like a cheap version of a paradox with flies

Idk about that, the vocals on here crush what he was capable of before. Take the chorus on Paradox and put it next to any chorus on here, not saying these are better choruses, but they are performed much better.

ima disagree since paradox packs a heavy punch, maybe because it sticks out harder since the rest of the album is so different. but i really dont see any of these being as memorable as paradox was

most songs are catchy as hell but after awhile it starts getting old pretty fast, imo
