Mikael's harsh vocals are at their best ever on this album. Kind of a shame that he stopped doing them after this

It's weird how recently he's barely been able to growl when it was so well done here. Possibly studio magic...?

Coil > Burden

@Talons that's something to do with his equipment he uses when playing live. Heard it in an interview somewhere and long story short, he's basically getting more vocal feedback and it causes him to change it up, sadly.

Or maybe he just can't do it anymore. i don't think he feels a need to make them as perfect as they used to be either

I saw in an interview how he understands that playing live means playing what the fans want to hear, not just what the band wants to play so maybe over time it'll inspire him to growl again on albums and hopefully bring some of their old style back. Can only hope

Saw them live in '11 and his Growls were unbelievable.

I don't think the old style is ever coming back *sigh*. The metal burnout has really pushed him and the fact that he doesn't listen to any new metal won't exactly inspire him either
