i could barely keep focused on the first listen, it bored the shit out of me. by the third listen i came to like it quite a bit. im not really loving it though.

I don't think an album needs to have flaws in order to hold back a 4.5 or 5, it just might not have that oomph to push it beyond "excellent" ...
you can cook a flawless batch of french fries but its still not gonna beat a 5 star meal, ya know?
