Phil has fantastic tone and basically created the blueprint for the genre going forward. But I have never heard him do anything as wild and unhinged as the highs on this.

Phil is good at what he does but nothing he says or does has the same weight behind it like with Brendan. Brendan was and remains as the pinnacle of deathcore vocals in my mind, because I've never heard anyone do a better job or be more captivating/convincing with this vocal style. I think Brendan pulled from a dark place within himself most normal people don't have access to, resulting in a realness no other deathcore screamer can seem to match to this day

I think he was generally a bit of an asshole from what I remember. I remember him being 'hard to work with'. Idk if that was his treatment of female fans or the fellow band mates but I always assumed both. he kinda bucks that trend of metal being a bunch a scary looking big beardy guys that are all actually super friendly and empathetic. I think Brendan meant at least some of what he was saying and dgaf. I used to remember more but it's been a while

Was listening to some stuff about him today at work, what i gather is that he’s a massive narcissist and has a fixation on how much he hates women.
Also was doing an obscene amount of coke.
So understandable why he was dropped, but that unstable energy definitely bled into the performance here

he was only in the group from ages 16-18 so who really knows. It's a shame he still doesn't want to make more music of any kind
