...what? No. Negative reviews are necessary when they're reasonably supported. Also, look at my ratings for previous Chevelle albums....trust me, I didn't want this to be boring. I kinda THOUGHT it would be boring, but I've been wrong before on that front. As long as I or anyone else can defend their stance in a review it doesn't matter what their preconceptions were.

Is this a 4.5 based on the comparison of other Chevelle albums ?
Is this a 4.5 on the radio-friendly rock scale ?
or is this a 4.5 in relation to the general Sputnik musical scale ?
i haven't listened to this genre in good while, but i took a quick listen to 3 tracks from this album...
and yea...this is definitely not a 4.5 on any of those scales.

basically the review is saying that this is as good as something like Make Yourself or White Pony. That's how far i have to go back to think of some really good radio rock.

I'm old...White Pony, and Make Yourself were radio albums. Everyone and their mom heard Drive/Change in the House of Flies...etc.
