I've never given Louder Now a proper listen, may do so later. I actually liked every song on this album after going through once, but damn Flicker Fade has been stuck in my head since it was released.

I thought the album was going to suck after the middle was kinda meh but then it regained steam

People keep saying they don't like the middle. I think that's where the strongest songs are. The only song I would leave off the album is Like You Do. The chorus is too fucking happy and familiar.

For a second I thought you were referring to Jimmy Eat World

I think I'll write a review for this. Eh. It should be decent for my second review. I'll give it a shot

didn't realize this was released... excited to hear it.

It's not terrible, but it's not nearly as good as the music TBS used to make. They've been going downhill since Louder Now. In my opinion, WWYB>TAYF>Louder Now>New Again>Happiness Is>Self-Titled

fun album as usual. Jamming Stood a Chance and Flicker, Fade so hard. Idk what it is about this band but the music fits summertime the best lol.

I'm considering reviewing every taking back sunday cd just for the hell of it. I've given all of them at least 20 listens so it shouldn't be hard. Enjoying this album so far though, and flicker really does get stuck in your head.

Does anyone else think it sounds like Jesse Lacey on backing vocals on "Nothing at All"?

So i believe this is their best album since Louder Now (obviously), but there is something about the dynamics and syncopation of most of these songs that really re-freshened their sound for me. Maybe their maturity has finally relieved their anxiety of finding their music again. Minus songs 3 and 4, this record is fun to listen to.

@stolenidentity
I got a bn feeling from tracks like it takes more, but it kinda makes sense since mike sapone produced half of the songs

i'm still not entirely sure how i feel about this
flicker fade is an incredible opener though and nothing at all is a really good brand new-y closer
some really good songs in between and some super super fillery stuff too
and this is a very minor thing, but man are the song titles dull. all the way, it takes more, like you do, nothing at all? those titles are so so bad. i definitely prefer the nonsense titles from earlier albums
