Platypus is probably my favourite here

Amazing album. The fact that this is my least favorite out of Mr. Bungle's 3 albums is really a testament to their greatness.
Ma Meeshka Mow Skwoz!

This album is just uggghhhh. What fucking planet is this band from?
|
| |
This beats their debut though.

@Inhalation3: California first, Disco Volante 2nd, their s/t 3rd.
Also with Disco Volante make sure its not 4am while you're tired as hell. I made the mistake my first time.
|
| |
California is their best. This is right on its heels but for insanely different yet similar reasons.

@deathschool: You don't like Mr. Bungle's debut?
Dude that's a 5 for me. Also I agree California is their best.
|

I was stoned out of my mind the first time I listened to this. I've never been so terrified in such a great way.
|
| |
I love their debut. I just think it's easily their weakest.

I got into this listening to it on my dawn paper run when I was 14

Yeah, chronological is the way to go. Sorry.

I personally find Disco to be their weakest. Still a total 4.5 though. God, I love Mr. Bungle, I'm named after one of their songs after all.

Also, no man, I went counter-chronologically and I don't regret it at all.
|
| |
Yeah. This band is kinda the pinnacle of why i love music.

My favourite album by my favourite band
And doing California first generally makes the other two too much effort for people, in my experience

For me, it was a better gateway.
Especially since I knew "Retrovertigo" before hand.
Plus "Sweet Charity" is one of the most inviting openers ever.

This is the ultimate band to jam chronologically, I see no other way. In fact, I might even suggest jamming the demos first before s/t.
|
| |
Yeah California is definitely their most subdued album, but it's still my favorite. Most days, I think this one is much more impressive, but California has more overall listenability.

The whole fun of "Sweet Charity" is that it is inviting as hell despite all the crazy shit that Bungle did on Disco Volante only
a few years back.
Also, thank you to whoever just pos'd :]
