Just saw the movie yesterday, fantastic, as always with Jonze. I'm not an Arcade Fire fan at all, but what I heard in the movie was really incredible, and, turns out this album has my favorite music from them. I like when artists put efforts in making soundtracks that really fit the movie

Is this album essential for a massive Arcade Fire fan? I know that "Supersymmetry" off Reflektor was originally written for this and that is by far my least favorite Arcade Fire song so I don't know if I'll like this

This doesn't sound anything like Reflektor. It's a very atmospheric, stripped-down album, much more about subtlety and beauty than anything else. So yeah, I'd say it's essential, but it also works extremely well in the context of the movie.
