I swear I hear some Dance Gavin Dance influence in Amalgamation

Yeah I'm enjoying this a fair bit, although I can't play it too much cuz the vocals get a bit monotonous. But if I give it time between listens, everything's pretty fantastic.

this album totally just becomes background music when i listen to it. which is not necessarily a bad thing.

You say that like it's a bad thing. Happiness is a great album and musically they're on point. If they released instrumental albums they'd be perfect.

I want a secret band album, but I still have a hard time listening to Mess' bullshit lyrics. I would like them so much more without him to be honest.

He's a great vocalist for the style, don't get me wrong. It's just I don't find him funny and he's overtly sexist at times which is kind of off putting. I understand he's the post-hardcore equivalent of Riff Raff, but still.

phxc riff raff is actually pretty accurate yeah. i find his word salad at best hilarious and at worst just word salad so it doesn't bother me. it was best before he really went off the deep end though. i still think he was great on dbm 1

It kinda is a bad thing since State Faults are pretty much the definition of honesty while DGD are superficial as fuck. I like them too but they could never stand up to a band with heart.

'Has no one caught on that Wildfires basically rips January, 1979 by MWY, or do you all fall in the same boat as me where you know but dont care because it sounds too good.'

cool that you heard that too. and that you don't care either hahaha, wildfires is amazing

I meant to compare the two in terms of the guitar tone and vibe of the song, Dance Gavin Dance and State Faults are obviously two very different bands, so apart from that one song I mentioned having some similarities, I think it's pretty difficult to compare the two.
