alright well I just finished my review for this one but it won't be up until Monday it looks like. I kind of want to submit it on sputnik cause I feel like this album still needs the right review on this site, but I went with ByVolume. I hope someone on staff covers this and it gets a feature. (this review is good, by the way, I just think this album deserves deeper/better analysis on a website that gushes about it so much. i'd post mine here but ByVolume doesn't let me do that)

I agree with you. I definitely could have done a better job but my mind was too wrapped up in school work this week to allow it. Hope someone shows me up because this album has more depth than I gave it credit for and it deserves an equally measured review.

wait hold on somehow I missed this review. I assumed we were commenting on one of the other ones.
I just read this and it's actually really good. I kind of think you're separating XXX and Old more than you should (the albums are pretty similar in all the ways you argue that they are different) but this is definitely a good review. You should have gone into a bit more depth, but reviewing this album is daunting (believe me) and we'd be talking about it forever if we actually wanted to do it justice. Pretty good review man, it's be perfectly alright if this was the flagged review for Old on sputnik.

Thanks dude. I think a lot of the points I make are a result of listening to it from the perspective of the Guardian article I alluded to so it amplified the differences between this and XXX for me- hence some the more "controversial" statements. Not sure I'll ever think they sound similar but hey, everyone's got his/her own interpretation.
