Yeah Ecnalzen, Empyrean is his most consistently great release from what I've heard.

@Ecnal I'd say Shadows Collide With People is a better starting place than the Empyrean, but y'know.

Alright, Omaha and Rowan, I'll try em both. Thanks. I am really interested to hear his style away from the Chili Peppers.
Hopefully, I can listen a little to both this weekend.

The only prog I have heard is 'modern prog' which, by regular prog kids standards, isn't really prog, so I am not entirely sure I know what prog is.

I did try to listen to a Yes album once, though, but I didn't make it very far...

it's not prog it just has a few proggy elements idk you will understand when you jam

by proggy elements i just mean a concept that can be totally ignored, some long instrumental sections, two songs that
are kind of exactly the same but also totally different but they line up perfectly when played simultaneously... weird shit
like that

umm not really, all the albums are kinda their own thing

closest to curtains (quiet/acoustic guitars etc) would prob be from the sounds inside which is basically a collection of demos which you may or may not dig cos it sounds like he's singing with a mouth full of barbed wire :/

they're basically like this

niandra and smile - crazy ass lo-fi heroin jams
to record only water - acoustic jams with primitive drum machines and hopeful vibes
the will to death - p chilled albeit mostly electric guitars
inside of emptiness - dirty distorted alt rock
dc ep - cross between twtd and ioe
empyrean - psych/prog rock
recent stuff - weird analog synthy shit
