I've actually only recently started listening to In Rainbows CD1 on its own. Previously I've always played the two disc edition all the way through from "15 Step" to "4 Minute Warning". It wavered the perception somewhat because of sheer length and the fact that with all their power the songs from the second disc don't always reach the same level of quality. "In Rainbows" as it is, ending with "Videotape", is incredibly precise in its focus. But I have to say that I sorta got used to hearing the extended edition and consider all the tracks from CD2 pretty much essential to the album on a personal level.
