I love the first half of PL, but I think it drops in quality after the title track (until the closing song, of course).

Grower. I started at a 3.0 -- it was good, but I was still missing the Degarmo influences. But I kept playing it (I had to so that I could review it) and the songs were staying stuck in my head and I started coming back to the album even when I didn't have to and it grew on me. The drummer is doing the kind of cool shit that he hasn't done since Promised Land. I still listen to it almost daily even though the review has been posted for over a week.

What you said was: pains me to say it, but this is a good record....better than AS. Why would it pain you to say it unless you were already set to dislike it, and actually wanted to dislike it too? If you expected it to suck and it didn't, you'd just be surprised, not pained.
