Shannon's performance on Nocturnal would be matched by very few.

I mean you could find a hundred drummers that can play it. Death metal drummers are tech sure, but they are all synonymous with talent. Hes an awesome drummer like I said and has great drum writing skills, but the dudes from Nile and Behemoth could play it no problem.

I enjoyed this. Second only to Ritual as of now. Nocturnal would beat it if it wasn't for its shit production I think. Enjoyed this though, especially the heavier aspects.

This review reads like you've never listened to TBDM before. No mention of how insanely clean and crisp the solos are compared to other death metal or even TBDM's earlier albums. You also didn't bother to even Google the name of the song you thought was so corny "Raped in Hatred by Vines of Thorn". It's supposed to be - it's a reference to Evil Dead and the whole song is a tribute to that. They said that in an interview not but a few weeks ago. The whole over the top lyrics and titles thing is not a serious affair, its somewhere between an homage and an inside joke.

His whole second paragraph is lauding the positives of the instrumental side of the album, mentioning the solos being 'painfully sharp' without the unnecessary technical garbage that's jam packed into so many death metal songs nowadays with the intent of being 'cutting edge' or 'experimental' when it's really just frantic flailing on the fretboard.
As for the lyrics, all he says is that the boundaries of the genre aren't pushed in any way, albeit there isn't much to work with in the niche that TBDM carved out for themselves. Trevor is perfectly content with writing horror-esque short stories in his songs (I remember in an interview he said that was his main goal in songwriting; to scare the shit out of kids with some crazy ideas) harkening back to his roots of being an English major. For the vocals, he probably just doesn't prefer Trevor's highs... that's just a personal sentiment, I suppose. I think the banshee shrieks are pretty awesome, especially the kick in scream to "In Hell Is Where She Waits For Me."
Review is good, I'd guess if he preferred Trevor's vocalization it would have easily been a 4 - TBDM doesn't break down any walls with this album to make it a classic, but they refine what the already have to create their best effort since Nocturnal.

^ Kid obviously hasn't been listening to TBDM for very long, despite his wall of text that might lead others to assume he knows what he's talking about.

A. I've mentioned several times that I don't actually listen to them regularly, so please don't act like I do
B. I was aware of the Evil Dead References, I just think the title was corny, but the song itself was good.
