I disagree with the rating. A 3.5 - 4.0 would be more accurate I think.

Yeah, I think this is better than The Devil You Know too. It also contains a lot of recycled ideas but they do it in a good way, so it doesn't bring the album down.

Very different records. TDYN featured one of the best vocalists in Rock (at least), a drummer who's style is completely different and Iommi didn't had health issues.

I also believe this tops TDYK, it's pretty good actually, im happy about this band, its one of the first metal acts i liked, and carries a sentimental value too strong. Forbidden didnt deserve to be their last album. Will spin a couple of times more before rating, but it will be a 3.5 or higher

Yeah, the album has some undeniably great moments. Loner, Live Forever and Damaged Soul, are all great songs. Also, I loved the ending. It's a fitting way for the band to come full circle.

There's pretty much something for every Black Sabbath fan on this album. Loner sounds like it fits more with Dio Sabbath. Live Forever is a more fast paced Sabbath song. Zeitgeist is for the Planet Caravan lover. Damaged Soul, Dear Father, Age of Reason, God is Dead and The Beginning of the End are their long meandering sludge/doom songs.

this is def between a 3.5 and a 4. i like this better than h&h.

the only prob for me to 4 it is that it would be as high as sabotage, but im not sure who i like better at this point

BLASPHEMY! Heaven and Hell is among Sabbath's very best albums, coming close to Paranoid and Master of Reality. And don't you have Dio in your profile picture, hm?

Greatest album ever released by a bunch of 60 year olds?

There's no way this even comes close to Heaven And Hell imo.

This album isn't better than any of the classic Sabbath albums, but it's unbelieveably solid and far exeeded my expectations given their age and amount of time since they have released anything memorable.
