What would you say is generic metalcore then? This really isn't anything special at all.

2.5'd for predictable foray in to pseudo-prog territory.

it is from a drummer's standpoint and someone who loves ambient stuff in heavier music

they're very slowly becoming a watered down rock band, and it's just going to get worse
I'm sorry but these vocals are fucking terrible and pretty much single-handedly seal their fate

Vocals are good to me but there is no variety in them whatsoever.

"I'm sorry but these vocals are fucking terrible "
I respect your opinion but I literally do not understand how people can think Ashe sucks.....
"What would you say is generic metalcore then? This really isn't anything special at all. "
It's the grooves and the atmosphere. I may down it to a 4 in time as im constantly banging this. As for metalcore, breakdowns piss me off and im starting to find that personally, I'm not into "heavy" music that much now.
Which is probably why I like this more than One.

Drummer boi got it. Better than One.... Way better than Fate

Vocals are hands down the best thing about this album. Everything else is a resounding meh.

Actually the atmosphere of the slow parts is my favorite part, vocals have improved compared to their older work. The flaw with this works are the harder parts which aren't nothing out of the ordinary

Eden is still their best song IMO tho.

yeah agreed on eden. if you think the instrumentation is meh you don't understand what's going with the drums. dude is a monster.

Opinions are bitchez. Tbf. I'm a huge fanboy of this band as I accidentally came across them on that CF pt 1 vid from like 2009. I was just gettin into metal and prog and fell in love.
Gay story over now. This band just puts me in an altered state when I listen to them.
;)

really clim? their drummer does such cool polyrhythmic stuff and he's what makes this band so
interesting to me. the grooving and atmosphere is cool but the way he accents parts and changes total
feels of certain parts just by what time he plays in is so interesting to me.

the rhythm section is definitely the best part of the band, but the band's sound throughout the album is just so same-y that nothing stands out to me. yeah its cool but i feel they could do a lot more than just ambient groove > epic vocal part > djent part > repeat

couldn't agree more Pastones is a total beast
but one instrument can't save a whole album/band

What about 2!
Amos is pretty fly for a white guy.
It's mainly James' ambience, Amos bass and Jay's grooves that gets me lost in the music. Acle needs to take a more acoustic approach to guitar and it would be siiiick.

You are just wrong. You may dislike them, but that's a different story.

I dunno. I like the balance they have now. They just need to write bouncier, groovier riffs for every djent section(like the beginning of singularity and nocturne or the end of Acceptance).

fun fact: this album actually gets better after every listen
