Apparently when Iceland was discovered they happened to land on the icy part and when they discovered Greenland they happened to land on the small grassy part

Iceland and Greenland's names have something to do with the vikings confusing their enemies, hence the landscape being
opposite from their names... or so i've read.

I have only been to iceland once, and it was only for a little time. Hardly enough to get a good impression sadly. I would still like to go back and check it out though. I went to sweden last year and that was pretty awesome.

Yeah, it's almost all geothermal (god I hate the smell of sulphur) or hydro. I think electricity production is 100% renewable.
They only have population of about 300k though.

Well there's no set population for a country but yeah I was surprised when I found out it was that
low. They certainly punch above their weight in music and sport.
The Blue Lagoon is nice and so is Reykjavík but it's pretty much just a town and there isn't too
much to see. The scenery is the best thing about the country. You have immense flat plains of
volcanic rock for miles and then out of nothing a massive mountain or volcano will appear. There are
some pretty stunning waterfalls too.

Well, looks like Iceland will be the second place after Croatia for holiday this summer, depending on how expensive Iceland is.

Yeah, Croatia was my first pick. I Still have Scotland, Eastern Austria around the Vienna area, Some Places in Poland, and Maybe Southern France on the possibles for places i would like to go that i have not seen yet. The plane ticket so far has been the most pricey part.

heh, Ive been to Paris, and alsace, I might check out Marseille. If i could ever be in Cannes during one of the film festivals that would be amazing as well.
