Damn, album rules. I always go through stretches when I don't listen to any Renaissance for months, and then once I listen to them again it's amazing.

And in the morning of my time
I'll try to understand
I learn by what I find
And love you if I can
We don't need to know the answers
to hope and pray for peace
and each by what he can
to make us all complete
Agreed for Black Flame though

All the songs on Turn Of The Cards are great. The album hasn't weak points. However, Mother Russia is my favourite track as well to the band's members. This track is simply brilliant.

I Think of You has to be the least interesting of the bunch. Easily. Then after Running Hard even if there is a nice piano sequence. For some reason, that composition doesn't do that much to me. I think it doesn't have much re-play value. Also, I'm not a fan of the vocal's lines. Instrumentally it's still a great song.

"Red blood, white snow" is a metaphor for the Red and White Russian armies. Actually freakin deep lol

Yeah, you bet. Mother Russia is the great epic of the album and a massive, classical and sophisticated piece of music that combines perfectly the clear influence of the music of the classical Russian composers and the political vicissitudes of Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn, a Russian dissident against the regime.
So, it has all to do with the Russian history.
