"Ae I haven't heard (and this might shock some people): Amber, LP5, Draft, Quaristice and most of the eps except Gantz Graf."

You should be excited. There is a lot of great stuff for you to discover. There is no hurry ;-)

kind of agree, kind of disagree. disagree with respect to this album though, because it is a monster but it's cohesive and flows, not a wasted moment.

review reads kind of like a reactionary rant, something I would have written after I heard it once or twice. Once this album gets inside your head though, it's just so damn good. I can't stop listening to it.

'There's nothing actually wrong with the sounds on Exai'

How reassuring that Pitchfork know what a wrong sound is, sanctimonious dicks that they are

They'd give Rite of Spring a 1.7 cause it sounds incorrect

To be honest, the Pitchfork review is a very good one. Not because I agree with it, but because it clearly underlines the grips most people will have with this record, and with Autechre's music in general. If even Pitchfork's "sanctimonious dicks" (hahaha) have trouble digesting this record, what should expect the average listener? It is clear that the review is directed to people with a passing interest/knowledge on the duo.

Long-time fans and dedicated listener can only smile at the poor-editing skills charge, even if there is some truth to it.

@Adash: if you have the time, you should check out Dadub's new album, You Are Eternity. Very interesting stuff in there, along the lines of Xhin and Lucy's work.

I just hate Pitchfork because they gave Kayo Dot a really shitty review

Zettel, I have Dadub and listened to it, considering a review if it hits me hard enough. So far quite good, like Emptyset jumped in the Monolake

I just looked at his profile. I guess he hasn't been posting or reviewing lately but damn he is loving those .1 increments.

Of course he is.
