I've been home all summer taking summer classes after being off at college for 4 years. Well I was looking through my old drawers and stumbled across this album. Put it in and, of course, started off with "The Reason" and then listened to it all as I studied for my organic chem test and bam! So good. Forgot how good this was. Not sure why all the hate.

"While there is nothing wrong with a love song, there is something wrong with a love song filled with a fourteen-year-old's poetry. It really is just an insult to the listeners intelligence that Hoobastank finds the need to dumb down their lyrics to this level."
Ouch. But there again, if you're going to criticise this kind of lyrical ineptitude, just check out the Top 40... you'll most likely have a field day...

This band is essentially Incubus without any of the replay value and they've got a dumb as fuck moniker. The debut album was alright at best, though this one's more prone to growing human legs and breaking them in the process. I can't remember a single track with the exception of the title song.

Hey, t/t was my most hated song as a kid, and it's still abysmal. Ahh the memories.

For me "Out of Control" and the title track are the best, hands down.

I can't stand the t/t, everything else is forgettable and tolerable, but the t/t is unbearably bad.

What about the title track annoys you so much?

It's one of the blandest ballads I've ever heard.

Idk man, his vocal lines are really nice in that song, especially the chorus.

His voice is actually why I find it annoying. The last word of every line is drawn out and it's very grating. At least his voice is covered by the guitars in other songs.

And for the most part, the other songs are catchy enough to hold their own ground.
