The drumming in "Deaths Hand" is awesome. In fact, I kinda like the song in general...

There are a ton of good songs on this album, very good and very heavy. Not as good as old Slayer, but still good.

Slayer was having a severe identity crisis when recording this album

I just can't imagine the guys sitting down and saying "let's take our sound and add groove metal and even some nu-metal. The fans will love it!"

They weren't trying to sell out. It was more or less an attempt to adapt to the changing times.

yah, obviously they don't or haven't heard risk but I've heard it a lot. ask sonomadude for more proof of this, he's ranted about that shit lol

really none of the big 4 stayed true, but Slayer prob made the best music of the big 4 in the "sellout" period.

Out of all the bands of the Big Four in that 1996 to 2001-ish period, I think Metallica probably put out the most songs I liked. Half of Load and Reload are boring, but the songs on those albums that don't suck are awesome, imo. Cryptic Writings had some good songs too, and Risk had like two songs I didn't hate. Diabolus in Musica, God Hates Us All, Stomp 442, Volume 8: The Threat Is Real...no thanks.

Load is like half 2/5 half 4.5/5 lol

Reload is boring but has like 3 good songs

Stomp 443 and Vol 8 are boring Pantera donations

Cryptic Writings has Trust and that song is awesome

Risk is really really bad lol

Diabolus is pretty good and has some heavy stuff

God Hates Us All is same as above
