"Seriously this is one of those albums that needs to be listened to at high quality, something so busy sounds like total shit at a low bit rate (like through the stream on their website). Vinyl sounds great"
I had downloaded this in 320 CBR and FLAC, and I have pretty good headphones. I still really, really disliked it. To be fair, I don't like any of Animal Collective's work, but still.

Well that doesn't sound like it was up to the audio quality then, just saying I liked it waaaaay more when I listened to it at lossless/on vinyl (coming from a massive AnCo fan)

Everybody hated on this... critics, AnCo naysayers, even AnCo fans... its just very experimental/isn't really comparable to anything they've done before, especially recently

I found it a lot of fun, as soon as I got past how weird and busy it is
I tried to fit it into one of my pre-existing mental boxes and it didn't work, so I took the time to make a new one. Unless you're a big AnCo fan like me I wouldn't expect you to give it that much patience

new town burnout just bores me now

New Town Burnout is tied with Wide Eyed as my favourite track, both are amazing.
The songs themselves aren't super experimental but the way they are presented is incredibly unique (I've never heard an album that sounds like this before)

Just moved back to college and Rosie Oh's been my jam for the last week. Underrated lyricists, imo.
