I noticed the other day that there's now those 5 disc sets with Sugar Ray's discography (sans Cougars). Would've got it for nostalgia but I already have Floored and Lemonade so I don't really care enough about the other 3 to get them. Apparently legal problems with Stan Frazier and Murphy Karges means there'll never be another Sugar Ray album (which is probably a good thing cos their brand of pop rock has no audience nowadays) and they're just resorting to nostalgia touring now.

It was funny for me to see where they ended up. Musically after my first exposure to them being RPM and mean machine

It is wild how hard they pivoted to full up soft rock pop. Even this album, like listen to American Pig that's a fuckin' metal song. But then Mark saw the dollar signs of a crossover hit with Fly and that was that. Lot of bands in the late 90s seemed to pivot from heavier roots to full on pop rock radio stuff when they had a crossover hit, these guys, Smash Mouth, Incubus.
