It seems that quite a few people either A) hated the s/t and were gonna 1/5 this anyway, or B) hyped it so much that no matter what he did it would be a letdown.

this is like stale moldy ass cheese tho. Honestly this sounds like a crappier version of what Ensiferum puts out now specifically From Afar

Jari could benefit from a theoretical class of minimalism indeed bro. Many times "epic" is an axiom
that can be a double edged sword in music. Countless of pagan metal / epic metal bands use gimmicky
instrumentations to the point in which it does not only ruins many songs but also takes any
credibility of emotion that their atmosphere aimed at. This motif takes over numerous great ideas
and replaces them with dull workadays. I'm a big fan of the s/t and Ensiferum as well but so far I
don't "get" this one. There are good ideas for sure, but they are buried beneath the overwhelming
layers of (awkwardly mixed) k / s, plus the riffs don't feel as good as they actually can be. I
haven't
listened to the whole thing yet but so far it is a low 3.

I'm really annoyed. There where great ideas on here. Jari just didn't used them correctly and
replaced some great sections with cheesy epic-ness. Really dissapointed and I hope I'm not the only
one :[

"There are many albums less than 40 minutes with much less "stuff" in them. There are albums with only 1 or 2 songs. So I think criticism that it´s too short is a bit unfair. And if "When Time Fades Away" and "Darkness and Frost" isn´t your cup of tea, I can understand that, but for me they are one of the highlights in my life. But also think of it this way, soon you´ll get another 40 minutes and it will contain 7 guitar solos. So I hope you enjoy TIME I what it is and not what it isn´t. Thanks for all the great compliments though! Warms my frozen heart! -Jari"
