All four albums are four different entities to me. Make that every Anberlin album.

Thought I'd share this if any of you have listened to this enough that you're getting familiar with the lyrics:
Question: Which song has the most misunderstood lyrics on the album?
Most misunderstood? Probably Innocent. Because it’s funny, I think when people hear that song they’re gonna think that it’s, I don’t know, like a love song. Someone already said that it sounds like a sappy song. It’s funny because it’s about Stephen’s grandfather dying so you know it’s one of those things when people hear they’ll be like “oh, it’s just another one of those songs” or like a cheesy love song or whatever you want to say. I think people will misunderstand that song for sure cause you know the lyrics are super personal for Stephen so it’s probably gonna be weird for him too if people judge the lyrics based on what they think it’s about and you know when it’s not even close to what they think it’s about. So probably that song for sure.

If I'm being honest, though, it's a pretty shitty interview

Listening to this for the tenth time now. A couple songs away from Innocent so I'll be listening to the lyrics the right way.

Yeah I'm giving this probably my 6th listen (admittedly I've listened to Type Three more than the rest of the album except the pre-released ones). Listening for lyrics has me very impressed though. I haven't heard any shitty fan girl-pandering lyrics a la Breaking or Art of War (chorus). Apparently parts of this album lyrically is inspired from the Egyptian Revolution.
(By the way I'm totally digging Other Side. What a fantastic song! I was starting to think about 4'ing this, but not anymore.)

Intentions is fucking amazing omg

Yeah I'm listening to Intentions right now. It's great but such a strange song. It's like a better version of There is No Mathematics... to me.

Once I have this actual CD and put it on the ipod I'm going to shuffle the whole Anberlin discography and spend 16 hours out in the day walking around Tulsa doing whatever listening to and doing whatever fate brings.

can't wait to hear this when it's not at a crappy stream quality
but i can't see this getting above a 4. which is still good, but not AOTY material by a longshot, and this will never beat Cities.
gonna listen to Dark is the Way again for some reference, hated that album when i first heard it.

Dark's always been a cool album idk what you guys are talking about. The album had some of their best musical moments, like We Owe This To Ourselves' bridge and the Art of War's intro. Plus Pray Tell is one of their best songs ever

listened, and it still frustrates me. they forgot how to write a good chorus for that album. only Art of War is straight up awful but everything else is just blah.
