I would give it a 4.5, Purple is my favorite and my dad cried when he found out that Scott Weiland died. I almost cried because he was one of the singers I used to sing to in the car a lot as a child. I have this on cassette and cd but is it a shameful waste. If anyone is struggling with addiction to drugs, please get help, it is not too late.

Yeah, Frusciante really overcame a lot, I'm happy it all turned out for him, wish it would've been that way for everyone in his position.

I doubt I’ll be able to listen to this for a long time. One of my ex-friends was obsessed with STP and loved this album in particular, used to sing “Dead and Bloated” and “Plush” on a daily basis. We were in a metal band together and he was pushing for us to cover “Dead and Bloated”. The dude was a violent POS and we ended up falling out when he threatened to knock is gf’s teeth out and then decked me in the face for stepping in...all at a bank. Fired him from the band and packed my bags that moment. He overplayed this thing like a bitch and now I associate it with him.



I’ll keep the rating because it is a great album, but my STP fan days are a thing of the past for now. I tried jamming it and I felt disgusted, like eating food that last made you puke. Thanks for this TedTalk.
