They should use full drums more often in their music in my opinion. I liked the drums on this.

this is the same thing as their first album in basically every way. so it loses half a point for lack of growth

Honestly, I'd rather see this win awards than 90% of the other crap they deem as, "award worthy"

But I loved the first album, and I do love this. M&S is a band, and they make music I enjoy. Period.

I stopped thinking about music like that thanks to this site.

Musicians are entertainers. It is some artists job to put a smile on the faces of as many people as
possible of all ages and important for other artists to fit into smaller niches and accommodate
other listening pleasures.

I was someone who thoughts objectively about music not too long ago and believed in some 'tier of
taste' but this website changed my view on music and some of the users taught me quite allot.

The way I see it. M&S being in the charts is no different than Katy Perry or Rihanna. They're all
entertaining as many people as they possibly can. It just so happens that M&S appeal to a different
kind of large audience. It's just reaching a preference.

Being 'award worthy' is nothing when their job itself is pretty award filled, isn't it? What's more
rewarding than playing for thousands who appreciate - even idolise you for doing something you
enjoy? Sure, winning a Grammy would be awesome too! But still, you gotta say that it's pretty
awesome even to have a collection of fans.

It's all preference, right? And we all feel differently about music and how we perceive it. Is it
actually fair to belittle that 90% of artists who are making so many feel so good? Sure, I may not
like their music but I have my own.

I agree. I prefer it over other artists in the charts but I'm not going to compliment the band for
it. They just make a different sound I prefer and I don't think we should be - as listener - patting
ourselves on the back for that.

not gonna argue that this band isn't awful but they're an easy target for people who hype equally contrived, disingenuous shit on this site all the time

i didn't say they were liked here, what part of that comment are you even disputing

people with the most milquetoast taste acting all INSULTED ON BEHALF OF MUSIC ITSELF over a mumford and sons album are being about as redundant as andcas in a justin bieber thread

yeah i agree with porch there. people that haaaaaaaate on mumford and sons (mainly talking about adam knott here) always get really pissy when people accuse bands/artists they like of the same things mumford and sons are apparently guilty of. like i actually cannot understand why some people here see fire and brimstone when this band is mentioned but still flip shit when like Frank Turner or Defeater get attacked (both of whom i like by the way)

I think it's the popularity thing. I guess it annoys them that the band are really popular and their fans consider it the saviour of music.
