most cohesive slowdive imo. not only is rutti my favorite song theyve ever made, but everything flows so much better than souvlaki and just for a day. and seeing slowdive is my favorite shoegaze band so far...i guess this is my favorite shoegaze album? i like this more than anything ive heard from mbv, ride, etc

All the Talk Talk comparisons get on my nerves tbh. I mean It obviously sounds like it could of drawn some influence from them, but this is definitely it's own thing.
Shoegaze was dying when this came out and Slowdive's record deal was coming to a end. This was basically them going into the studio and giving the middle finger to everyone. They didn't care at all about accessibility on here.
In my opinion this is them at their creative peak. Chocked full of psychedelic challenging sounds and mostly inaccessible song structures they took their sound to a whole new level and pushed it past what shoegaze was suppose to be. It's a classic to me, but one I understand not everyone agreeing on.
